Internet Security Conference 2018 opens: GTCOM fully demonstrates strength in AI big data as a strategic partner

The Internet Security Conference (ISC)–a world-class cyber security conference–opened in Beijing on September 4, 2018, being sponsored by the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security and the State Cryptographic Administration, and jointly hosted by the Internet Society of China, the Cybersecurity Association of China, the Chinese Association for Cryptologic Research, the China Association for Friendship and the 360 Internet Security Center. As a strategic partner in the conference, Global Tone Communication Technology Co., Ltd. (GTCOM) provided comprehensive language-technology solutions such as simultaneous interpretation and machine-translation technology services for more than 40 sessions, thus demonstrating the company's ability to drive new developments in the network-security industry through the use of AI big data.

The next-generation technological revolution is booming worldwide, and it continues to shape the underlying logic of global development. However, it has also become a fertile ground for new threats. Technology is the primary productive force in the improvement of the world, but at the same time technology is the primary destructive force, having introduced new dangers. Based on the theme "Zero-Trust Security," the conference attracted nearly 300 security experts, including top global security strategy think tanks, security industry leaders, academic experts, senior military leaders and high-tech enterprises from more than 20 countries and regions, including China, the U.S., Germany, France, Israel, Belgium, the European Union and Russia, as well as ambassadors of more than 10 countries along the Belt and Road to China. At the conference, Chen Zhaoxiong, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Zhao Zeliang, chief engineer of the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission; Guo Qiquan, chief engineer of the Network Security Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security; and Zhang Pingwu, the director of the Office of Commercial Password Management of the State Cryptographic Administration, delivered speeches. Wu Hequan, honorary chairman of the ISC, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and chairman of the Internet Society of China, delivered an opening speech, and Zhou Hongyi, founder, chairman and CEO of 360 Group, gave a welcome speech.

GTCOM provided multilingual machine-translation technical services such as Chinese-English and Chinese-Russian translation for each of the speakers: Brett Williams, co-founder and COO of IronNet Cybersecurity, former operations director of U.S. Cyber Command and a retired major-general in the U.S. Air Force; Eric Blot Lefevre, founder and CEO of TrustSeed, France; and Vladislav Sherstyuk, former director of the Russian Federal Communications Agency, former first deputy secretary of the Security Council of Russia, president of the National Association of International Security in Russia and dean of the Department of Information Security, Lomonosov Moscow State University.


According to preliminary statistics, more than 40,000 security practitioners attended the ISC 2018. More than 400 topics and latest research results pertaining to cybersecurity strategy planning, industrial direction, technological trends and application innovation were released at the conference. This event in the field of Internet security has been successfully held five times since its inception in 2013. After years of development, it has become the largest, most influential security event in the Asia-Pacific region.

GTCOM provides participants with LanguageBox at the AI big-data product experience zone


Additionally, GTCOM provided a full range of language-technology solutions, including simultaneous interpretation, translation, and multilingual machine-translation technology services based on the LanguageBox conference machine-translation system. It was the first time since the ISC was held that artificial simultaneous interpretation and machine translation provided support.

From September 4 to 6, GTCOM will also display its AI big-data products such as the JoveMind knowledge graph-building and analysis platform, the MerCube enterprise-level machine-translation server, Public Safety big data, JoveBird financial big data and JoveEye technology big data at its booth, doing so in order to provide new solutions and ideas for users in the global security industry.

It is reported that at the Forum of Cybersecurity Technology Innovation and Application to be held on September 6, GTCOM CEO Eric Yu will share GTCOM's application examples under the topic "New Development of Cybersecurity Industry Empowered by Big Data." In doing so, he will analyze the pattern and potential of big data empowering the Internet security industry.
