At the invitation of the University of Vienna, Austria, Yu Yang, CEO of Global Tone Communication Technology Co., Ltd. (GTCOM), attended the seminar of the University of Vienna on March 20, 2017. Yu Yang communicated with the professors and experts from the Centre for Translation Studies, the Faculty of Computer Science, and the Faculty of Law at the University of Vienna, concerning big data, machine translation and speech recognition, and signed a joint laboratory agreement.

As GTCOM's first joint laboratory in Europe, both sides will conduct technological research in such areas as big data, machine translation (German and English as the central languages) and speech recognition. They will work with the European Commission, the European Parliament, the United Nations, the CIUTI and other international organizations, universities and research institutes to build a synergistic innovation platform in cross-language big data for industries, universities and research institutes.

The University of Vienna is Austria's oldest university and one of the oldest universities in the German-speaking region. Founded in 1365, the University of Vienna now has 15 faculties. It is also one of the largest universities in Austria and even Europe and is the alma mater of 27 Nobel Prize winners.
